Hello Friends and Welcome to The Hopeful Tarot website.

I am Hope, the creator of The Hopeful Tarot.

My interest in tarot began when I was in my freshman year of college. I was nervous to ask for my first tarot deck because I was unsure how people would react to my inquiry. To my surprise, I was gifted my first deck from my mom, on Christmas nonetheless!

As a beginner, I was unaware of the various systems of tarot, the symbolism, the connections to astrology or numerology… I knew that this new hobby would be a commitment to research and study but I was certainly unaware of just how in-depth the whole thing would be. Luckily my father was secretly a tarot guru. It was a shock to not only receive this taboo item that I wanted so desperately, but also find out that my own dad was into it as well. It was then that my research, study, and practice really started. I was able to utilize the arsenal of information that my dad accumulated.

For the majority of my time with tarot, I strictly read for myself with the occasional friend or family member curious enough to ask for a reading. The covid closures put the world to a halt, thus giving an ample amount of time for people to invest in themselves, hobbies, and new skills. Because of the newly found time in quarantine, I was able to really focus on my development and understanding in the ways of tarot. I found that I had a few friends who were also involved with the hobby I loved so much. This newfound connection between my practicing friends and I allowed for deeper conversations and led to larger pathways of understanding the RWS system.

It was not until the pandemic of 2020 that I started to build the courage to read for others outside of my general social circle. In February of 2021, I finally gained the confidence in myself as a reader to put myself out there and really test my skills. Since then I have been running @thehopefultarot Instagram with daily guidance, card knowledge, and honestly just some fun posts. This expansion of my hobby has brought me a purpose and joy that I didn’t realize I was missing prior.

For this reason, I want to continue to push myself and my study of tarot by offering readings, advice, ideas, or whatever else! I hope you enjoy this journey together. Please reach out if you would like a reading.
