Although Christmas traditionally aligns with the Christian religion, the modern world consists of many people connected to varying religions who celebrate this holiday. As discussed in my last blog (Investigating Holiday Traditions), we know that many Christmas traditions stem from pagan traditions that existed generations prior. Gift giving has turned into a celebration of those you care about. Subsequently, there is no reason you shouldn’t buy gifts for the tarot reader in your life.
Whatever your reason behind giving gifts, it honestly doesn’t make the process any easier. I recognize the time and intention that goes behind creating or acquiring the perfect gift. The challenge I face: I love giving gifts but have difficulty deciding what gifts to give. For this reason, I thought a blog might help pick a gift for the tarot reader in your life. It should be noted that most tarot readers are collectors of divination tools. In general, tarot readers love having a variety of decks to use in their daily practices. The challenge here will be figuring out if they have the deck that you are thinking of gifting.

I am obsessed with my tarot/oracle decks, which means that I am very particular when it comes to keeping them safe. While I do not mind if people use my decks or handle my decks, I don’t want the decks to be damaged nonetheless. Pendulums can come in many shapes and forms. The typical pendulum will be made of a crystal, therefore you can intuitively choose a pendulum for your special someone OR you can search for a crystal that connects to them in someway (interests, spiritual meaning, or birth month). There are even metal pendulums (such as silver or copper) that are popular in the divination world as well.

Meditation is such a happy and wholesome activity. It has an array of benefits that help with anxiety, depression, stress reduction, lowering blood pressure, and more. I was just recently introduced to meditation pillows. Meditation pillows can be used for more than meditation, they can also be used for extra seating when you host an event. Also, kids love sitting on meditation pillows when they watch a movie or do an activity on the floor.

While I do not own a singing bowl and have limited knowledge on this item, I know many people swear by them! Most spiritual people recognize that everything operates at a certain frequency, and find that Tibetan singing bowls help level out one’s internal frequency. Crystal population has drastically increased. If you are familiar with crystals, the metaphysical world recognizes each crystal has spiritual properties and symbolic meanings to help channel certain energies. Tarot readers are typically into self reflection. Journals provide a set location to keep track of tarot readings to later reflect on the original interpretation vs the experienced outcome. Journals also allow a place to investigate the cards using your intuition, instead of the memorization of key words. Aside from tarot, journals can be used as a way to track any learned information.
Teas/Herbs
Teas and herbs are always welcomed in witchcraft. Teas and herbs are used for intention spells, kitchen witchcraft, divination, and more. Aside from witchcraft, both teas and herbs have a variety of health benefits when consumed. Perhaps create a tea care package for these colder months of the year. I personally love a good peppermint tea regardless of the weather conditions.
Luckily, there is an abundance of metaphysical options and places that supply the options above. Where can you find quality items? Mainstream bookstores, like Barnes & Noble, carry a nice range of decks, while local bookstores may have some secondhand items that are more unique. Amazon has a wide variety of metaphysical paraphernalia, but be mindful that the quality might be lacking because of the sellers on amazon. In spite of the costly prices, Etsy has some beautiful indie options that may be worth looking into. Plus, you get the added benefit of supporting a small business.
